Mental Welfare Commission Board Vacancy
The Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 aims to improve the corporate governance of the Commission by separating the governance and operational duties. A new Board, with a Chair and between 6 - 8 members will, therefore, be set up from April 2011 which will have a governance only role.The Chair will play a central role in guiding the strategies which address the priorities and needs of the organisation and will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating its performance. This appointment has a time commitment of 45 days per year, with a daily fee of £335 (non-pensionable); plus travel and subsistence costs and dependant carer expenses. The appointment will be for up to 4 years, with the possibility of re-appointment subject to evidence of effective performance and to satisfying the requirements of the person specification for the role at the time of re-appointment.
