Disabled people's experiences and views of the recession

Disabled people’s experiences and views of the recession The Scottish Government wants to understand if the recession is having an impact on disabled people as well as getting a picture of what services and support are most important to people in their everyday lives. The Scottish Centre for Social Research would therefore like to interview disabled people with an interest and relevant experiences - the interviews will be quite detailed and will last for an hour with breaks where this is appropriate.   ·        The team would be looking to do between 2-3 interviews in-service on a day. They’d be looking to start late June/beg July if this was possible. ·        The research team would pay venue costs and staffing/communication support costs where these applied. ·        Language support would be funded where this was needed ·        Respondents would be paid in gift vouchers (£25) for their time.   This project is keen to include disabled people with learning difficulties - they have produced a leaflet with this in mind and are looking at accessible formats for the interviews.   If you would like further information about the study or to make arrangements for an interview, please contact Rachel Ormston (Research Director) or Fiona Dobbie (Senior Researcher), Scottish Centre for Social Research, 73 Lothian Road, Edinburgh EH3 9AW. Tel. 0131 228 2167.
