Members Meetings

VOX members meetings

VOX holds members meetings twice a year to ask our members what they feel we should be focussing on throughout the year. We try to make the meetings fun! At the meetings we set our priorities and ask for your views on a range of topics.

The following list of priorities has been set by our members;

  • Employment
  • The Benefits System
  • The Voice of Older Generations
  • Challenging Stigma and Discrimination

What our members think about the meetings

The following quotes came from our last members meeting held in December 2009 in the Corinthian, Glasgow.

“I think we all have found that we know more than the Doctors and we noticed that there was a lack of knowledge of where to get help”

“Great venue for meeting”

“Easy access to get too”

“Good workshops”

“Good facilitators”

“Good turnout for meeting”

“Very open discussion among group”

“Everyone encouraged to talk”

“Made me feel welcome by group”

“The venue was about the right size and there was plenty of room at the tables”

“We need to get more information about all the things we have discussed and also to learn a lot more about mental health problems and VOX is doing that job well”
