National LGBT Forum: Improving Relationships

Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM
South Ayrshire Council, County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr, KA7 1DR
LGBT Communities and Public Bodies working togetherWith laws meaning Public Bodies have new duties to consult with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people, and a willingness from LGBT people to engage service providers to improve the services we all need, it’s important to share what we have learned and what worked well to ensure LGBT Communities and Public Bodies are working together. Join us for the next meeting of the National LGBT Forum, held for the first time in Ayrshire, to discuss the key topics for LGBT Inclusion. During the event there will be a broad range of speakers from the NHS, Police, Local Authorities and LGBT community perspectives on how to improve relationships, services and reduce inequalities as well as the chance to have your say.
The event will take place on Wednesday 18th January from 5pm until 8.30pm hosted by South Ayrshire Council. The event is free and there will be snacks and refreshments served on arrival. Travel expenses can be paid where the cost of travel is a barrier to participation. If you have any questions about the event please contact scott@equality-network.org or call the EQUALITY NETWORK on 0131 467 6039.
