Research
VOX are involved in a number of projects where we aim to gather research on the views of mental health service users.
Intensive Psychiatric Care Units (IPCU's)
One area of work we have been involved in is around people's views on Intensive Psychiatric Care Units (IPCU's). This was a peice of work commissioned by Quality Improvement Scotland (QIS). VOX ran focus groups in each Health Board area, the groups were facilitated by a service user research consultant with the aim to find out the views of those who have had experience of IPCU's, and their carers. For more information please go to the QIS website.
Service User Involved Research Network
VOX also sits on the Service User Involved Research Network. This group aims to develop an innovative approach to make sure that research within mental health is a partnership between academics and those with experience of having a mental health problem. A range of partner agencies are involved in this development including the Scottish Recovery Network, the Positive Mental Attitudes Project and the Mental Health Foundation.
