VOX makes sure that any projects it develops are initiated by our members, we hold members meetings and a range of focus groups, meetings and activities to make sure that our members are the ones who shape what we do. Find out more about our members priorities.
VOX has a programme of work which focuses on Diversity and Human Rights, this includes work with young people, older generations, Black and Minority Ethnic Groups and a range of other groups from diverse populations. read more
Sharing Good Practice
VOX involves its membership in a number of opportunities where we can learn and share from other areas, we know that by learning from each other that we can develop better services for those with mental health problems.
Opportunities we have opnened up to our membership recently include the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) www.iimhl.com/
and the World Congress on Mental Health
. We also develop projects to gather good practice examples across Scotland, work has included good practice in employability and mental health.
One key aim for VOX is to help to support local networks and projects to make sure that the voice of the local person is heard. Work in the past has included capacity building in Orkney. read more
VOX has representation on a number of networks and steering groups. This enables us to influence and develop services which put the person with a mental health problem at the heart of any service. read more
VOX has been involved for the last three years in Scotland's Mental Health Arts and Film Festival. This festival generates debate and discussion around mental health and challenges stigma and discrimination. t, this raises awareness of this method of receiving support.
Measuring Outcomes in Mental Health
VOX members are involved in making sure that the way in which we measure outcomes has the service user at the centre, we know that it is those with mental health problems who understand what they need and want in terms of outcomes. read more
VOX in partnership with a range of organisations has been involved in the development of the service user involved network. This network brings together academics and those with mental health problems to develop a unique approach to research in mental health in Scotland.read more
